Baby Names.

My dear friend, Michelle Sin and I were having a discussion on what we want to name our kids when we grow up and get married. She loves names ending with -elle or -ette whilst yours truly, loves old English names. And my kids will have two English names, instead of one. This was inspired by the fact my sister has a friend name Audrey Desiree and I love the names I chose. I love the names Katherine or Kathryn, Desiree,Christyn/Kristyn, Alexandra, Juliette, Julianne, Taelyn, Katelyn, Leah, and Andrea for girls. For guys, I love the names Alexander, Christopher, Nathaniel, Caleb, Jeremiah, Timothy, Josiah, Aaden, Cameron.

On the other hand, she likes Isabelle, Annabelle, Juliette for girls. For boys, she loves Nathanial, Samuel and Ethan. Haha, we started this conversation after I was complaining to her how much iLecture stuff we both did. By the way, do you know I nearly ended up as an Annabelle instead or Elizabeth? Mum changed my name at the last minute because she thought the belle sounding name was better suited for a cow instead! However, my parents have made it clear that they should be consulted when it comes to the Chinese name part. They think it is only traditional enough to consult both sets of parents. So yeah, my parents will have a say in naming my kids in the future.

So there's my long-awaited 2nd post in a month, as stipulated in the terms.:)

HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S ,PEEPS /MATES!:)

Yeah, I can second Thomas's blogging requirements. It ain't that hard is it? Speaking of which, "I am putting my mouth where the chilli is". Which means, that for March I have broken the terms and conditions, because I blogged once. BUT, if our post is gargantuanly incessantly long, does that constitute TWO posts? Anyways, back to the point of this post. I am in the midst of completing 2nd year, 1st semester. In fact, it has been seven weeks since I started university. It feels like ages and ages ago. It must be the signs of getting old, aging faster than you know it-type of scenario.

Oh on a random note, mummy says my writing is getting from bad to worst. It's when I write fast, it becomes really illegible. Somewhat between good writing and doctor's writing. Doctors scribble, trust me-- having one doctor (dad) and one doctor-in-training (my brother). My dad's writing is hardly legible, my brother's is getting to that point. My sister, the lovely and talented Ms. Megan Chin, says it is still bearable but you better not fall in to the deep pit-fall dungeons of having illegible writing, where you could not be rescued. It makes me laugh everytime I am constantly reminded. What a family I have, serious at times, yet so funny as well. Their analogies could cause one to die of laughter, literally.

What events is next for Elizabeth? ( Yeah, I am referring to myself in third person)
- J-LIFE Church Youth Camp 2009, April 10th-13th (Easter Weekend)- going up north to have a fun-filled, yet deeply spiritual-filled weekend.
- Trip back to Malaysia, July 12th-Aug 2nd: Going back for 3 weeks to have a break. Which means leaving work back here. Stress-free, ideally!
- Working on Saturday (4th April)-- it gives me the cash or pocket money, so why not, hey?
- Finishing assignments and presentations due on the week after Easter.
- Catching up on some much needed sleep. Seriously, my eye bags are horrendously horrible! No pictures will be inserted here, to save my skin from major embarassment.

Seriously, I am on a high here despite having had 4 assignments due in the last week. It's so funny because this post is in stark contrast with the one on my blog. I update the blogs simultanously for convenience purposes. Oh, well better stop here now before I bore you to tears! A random pick up line courtesy of iPickUpLines ( a software application my friend downloaded to his iPhone).

"If looks can kill you, you would be a weapon of mass destruction"- guys, please don't use this line to pick-up your future partners. Spare yourself from embarrasing situations. :)
My next post will be full of pictures, I promise *cross fingers*!

:: Time Flies By When You Are Having Fun::

It will be another three weeks and two days before I go back to Perth for the 2nd year consecutively to begin another year of university. The reason being, my sister, who will enter in to her 2nd last year of high school would start on Monday,2nd February 2009. I don't start for another two weeks or so. This holidays have been ever so busy from the day I step foot in to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The weekend following my arrival in KL, I was down in Singapore for a few days for a close family friends wedding. Following that, the next week was filled with visits from rellies ( relatives) and friends. On Saturday, 13th of December 2008-- it was my church's annual youth camp held in Benum, Pahang at some NS (National Service) camp. I was there for five days till the 17th of December.

Immediately after coming back, the following night was filled with the pastoral/cell group Christmas Dinner. On the 19th of December, we had an early Christmas luncheon with our closest friends in Reunion, Bangsar Village II. That night, I had dinner with friends and then went to a friend's house to fellowship after. Saturday was the Youth Christmas Dinner/Service and Sunday was just another day of church. Tuesday,23rd December-- we had some of the youth come over to our place for a barbeque hosted by my brother. The next day was dinner with my rellies and spent the Christmas countdown at church with friends.

Christmas Day-- was spent with the morning service at Actors Studio, Bangsar and then following that, lunch with the youth peeps. Then, I went to Mid Valley Megamall with my UK friends to watch a movie, shop and have dinner. Was supposed to meet Kenneth and Nami, but was unable to make it due to plans earlier made. Boxing Day-- was spent shopping for presents for friends in Parkson, 1 Utama. Bought a few things and then went to a Christmas Open House by a close family friend. Had good fellowship. Saturday-- was the Ephesians Challenge held by the youth fellowship again. Then,we went for dinner with the youth. Sunday was church, but my family and I left early in order to go to Bukit Tinggi with church friends.

Was in Bukit Tinggi till Tuesday, 30th December. That same night, I had dinner with another set of friends from the UK. New Year's Eve (31st), there was the pastoral group dinner again. New Year's was spent at church followed by lunch and then another dinner again. Saturday and Sunday came with many other dinners as well. This week, I went to 1 Utama on Monday, 5th of January with some UK friends to watch Four Christmases and then went to Delicious to eat lunch. Today (8th Jan), I went to Pavilion to do some shoe shopping and to eat lunch. Then, I went out to Plaza Mont Kiara to do some things with friends and later at night, had dinner with the family at some steamboat place in Bandar Menjalara, Kepong.

Hence, my busy schedule since I touched down in KL a month ago. I will definitely try to meet up with you guys and girls before I go back!:)

It's That Time of The Year AGAIN!

Dear All,

It is nearly the end of a stressful but eventful 10+ months in Perth, Australia. Soon thereafter, I would be sitting for my final exam papers, which starts next Saturday. Like Thomas said previously, it may be the last time I would be blogging here ( from Perth) due to exam constraints and last-minute packing stuff.

I can't wait to be back in KL, after all, it has been nearly 11 months I've ever step foot on KL soil. Hope to catch up with you guys back home and have fun. Hope all is well with everybody, and best wishes in your exams.

Time and tide may fade, but the works of a good man does not*.

* A random quote stuff that was just came into my head.

Friday, February 8
::From the Land of Kangaroos, Koalas, Echindas, Emus and Quokkas::

I sit here in the Murdoch University Library, giving you this update LIVE and DIRECT from Perth,Australia. No, don't get me wrong, class for me has not still started. I am just taking advantage of the wonderful internet facilities that I have and can use here, while I wait for my own internet to be connected. Seriously, it takes 15 days for the internet to be connected here in Australia? On the downside, the internet companies here do not give unlimited broadband and there is a maximum bandwidth that can be used. Well, I am exaggarating la, they do have unlimited broadband but its seriously very costly. Like on average AUD 150? In KL, Streamyx unlimited can cost only RM 66. Mobile phones costs, also are really expensive, like the package I am on, I pay AUD 19 a month and I get AUD 50 worth of credit each month and a free phone. But then again, you pay 47 cents for 30 seconds and there is a flagfall for each call you make which is additional 35 cents. Note, all this costs are quoted in AUD. An national SMS is 25 cents and an international SMS is 35 cents. If you guys complain about the mobile in Malaysia being so expensive, when you come here, you would be so thankful for the rates we pay in Malaysia, which is dirt cheap!

Other than that, life in Australia, seems quite relaxing. No more hustle and bustle, and it a very good city to live in. Seriously, I think you live longer here than you do if you live in Malaysia. The weather has been seriously hot cos it is summer right now, but yesterday (Wednesday), it was raining the whole day. It has not rained for 6 months before that, whereas Brisbane and Sydney have been raining practically everyday. Here there is no mamaks, shops closes at 5 pm and they dont open on Sunday. Chinese New Year is much quieter than what it is in Malaysia. But there is no pollution and life is less stressful. Even my sister who is going to school in Perth, shares the same view. Life is more balanced, if I may say. It rained so hard that it exceeded the monthly rainfall by 20 percent.

My orientation starts on Monday, the 11th. And classes here start on the 19th of February. It is hot next week, like high 30s. The university here is ultra-big and there is a lot more space. We even have a farm on site ( for the Veterniary Science) students. We have a lot of parklands, rivers and trees. When you come from Taylor's where it is so cramped at all, the size of Murdoch University is gargantuan.

I have to go for now, and I will update you guys later. Hope to keep in touch and Gong Xi Fa Cai to everyone from the Land Down Under. If you want to contact me in Perth, my number is 0422381181 ( within Australia) and +61422381181 ( from Kuala Lumpur). Miss you guys alot......

Oh, Dear!

Seems like the closing chapter to SAM ( South Australian Matriculation a.k.a Self- Abuse Matriculation a.k.a Saya Akan Mati) has not really got off to a good start. Firstly, the DI-sasterous trial papers especially ACCOUNTS hit off badly. Err, maybe for most of us, probably with the exceptions of Ian and Kenneth.

Needless to say, do not fret. Lol. Life is an endless journey of bumps and smooth passages. Though some of us may feel, that life is always on the downside, take this as a good lesson because the best is yet to come. The bittersweet moments of life are what makes us better homo sapiens
. Furthermore, realising what lies ahead and the life you are going to live is going to make you overcome your fears and disillusions.

Do not let your emotions overtake your true potential. Believing in yourself is one way. Like my late grandfather said, if you do your level best in whatever you do, that means you have done the best that you can possibly have done. Do not be downtrodden either, because that is not very good.

This song is pretty old, is from an 80's group called The Bangles ( the very same people who sang, Eternal Flame, which was later re-sung by Atomic Kitten) on how we do not wish for the weekend to end and dread a MONDAY.

Manic Monday
Artist(Band):The Bangles

Six o'clock already
I was just in the middle of a dream
I was kissin' Valentino
By a crystal blue Italian stream

But I can't be late
'Cause then I guess I just won't get paid
These are the days
When you wish your bed was already made

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it were Sunday
'Cause that's my funday
My I don't have to runday
It's just another manic Monday

Have to catch an early train
Got to be to work by nine
And if I had an air-o-plane
I still couldn't make it on time

'Cause it takes me so long
Just to figure out what I'm gonna wear
Blame it on the train
But the boss is already there

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it were Sunday
'Cause that's my funday
My I don't have to runday
It's just another manic Monday

All of the nights
Why did my lover have to pick last night
To get down
Doesn't it matter
That I have to feed the both of us
Employment's down

He tells me in his bedroom voice
C'mon honey, let's go make some noise
Time it goes so fast
When you're having fun

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it were Sunday
'Cause that's my funday
My I don't have to runday
It's just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
'Cause that's my funday
It's just another manic Monday

Here is another song by another old group, Earth, Wind and Fire( who hits include September and Boogie Wonderland).

SYSTEM OF SURVIVAL
Artist(Band):Earth Wind And Fire

The Human Race is runnin' over me
I punch a clock at 9 and 5
Just tryin' to make a livin'
A plastic face on satellite TV
Says, "Life is filled with give and take"
He's takin' and I'm givin
So I dance

(Hook)
It's my system of survival (SOS)
I'm dancin'
System of survival (SOS)
It's a system of survival
Future revival
Greet the new arrival

(Bridge)
At times it's the only way
I'm gonna make it through this day

(Chorus)
Everybody get up
Do your dance
Keep survivin'
Everybody get up
Do your dance
Stay alive

A city night
I walk a street in fear
While politicians brag about
A paperwork solution

Another life
I shed another tear
I'm waiting for somebody new
To lead the revolution
So I dance

(Hook)
It's my system of survival...
(Repeat Hook and Chorus)
(SOS) Send it out
Send it out, send it out, send it out...

Lol, pretty old songs I may say, but songs like these propel a strong message for all to believe and survive in this age of GLOBALISATION,TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT and STRESSFUL LIVES, especially when we hate going back to school on a Monday.

Here are the music videos of the two songs....

::We have come so far, yet so far to go::

Hey peeps.....

How is everyone during this holidays? Hope you are keeping well. Well, as the title of my post aptly puts it, we have come so far in terms of our progress in SAM but we still have yet to overcome the final hurdles of this. Starting will the trials next month and the finals one and half months later. Truth is stronger than fiction. Be strong everyone and trust yourself because you know your limits.

Here's another thing I came across the Internet again:

The Will To Win

If you want a thing bad enough
To go out and fight for it,
Work day and night for it,
Give up your time and your peace and
your sleep for it
If only desire of it

Makes you quite mad enough
Never to tire of it,
Makes you hold all other things tawdry
and cheap for it

If life seems all empty and useless without it
And all that you scheme and you dream is about it,
If gladly you'll sweat for it,
Fret for it, Plan for it,

Lose all your terror of God or man for it,
If you'll simply go after that thing that you want.
With all your capacity,
Strength and sagacity,

Faith, hope and confidence, stern pertinacity,
If neither cold poverty, famished and gaunt,
Nor sickness nor pain
Of body or brain

Can turn you away from the thing that you want,
If dogged and grim you besiege and beset it,
You'll get it!

Berton Braley

Hope this inspires you guys......

Cheerios.......till next time:)

:: we are one, together for now and for always::

We belong together
Like the open seas and shores
Wedded by the planet force
We've all been spoken for

The hammer may strike, be dead on the ground
A net to my hand, a cross on his crown
We're done if who we're undone
Finished if who we are incomplete
As one we are everything
We are everything we need

We belong together
Like the open seas and shores
Wedded by the planet force
We've all been spoken for

What good is a life, with no one to share
The light of the moon, the honor of a swear
We can try to live the way of which you speak
Taste the milk of your mother earth's love
Spread the word of consciousness you see
We are everything we need

We belong together
Like the open seas and shores
Wedded by the planet force
We've all been spoken for

All this indecision
All this independent strength
Still, we've got our hearts on safe
We've got our hearts on safe

Someday when you're lonely
Sometime after all this bliss
Somewhere lost in emptiness
I hope you find this gift...
I hope you find this gift...
I hope you find this gift.

A song by Gavin Degraw from his single, We Belong Together.

It is dedicated to all of you :)

Wednesday, August 8
- be the best of the best-

Just wanted to post a shout-out to those brains behind this blog :) Kudos on your great idea in creating a class blog where we could reflect on the memories that we experienced so far and to eternity...ahaha, hopefully!

First and foremost, as all Accounts students know, we would be having a Common Test next Tuesday, 14th August. Thus, my best wishes to all and hopefully, all of us would pass with flying colours. All of us can do it, just believe in yourself, trust your brains and instincts and dare to dream!

To everyone, best wishes also for the Altantuya Text Production Test on August 15th to 17th. May you all write well and get your desired results......:)

Pei Min, sincerely hope you would get better and be able to come to college soon.

Here's a little something that I came across whilst surfing the Internet.

Be The Best of Whatever You Are
By Douglas Malloch

If you can't be a pine on the top of the hill,
Be a scrub in the valley-but be
The best little scrub by the side of the rill;
Be a bush if you can't be a tree.

If you can't be a bush be a bit of the grass,
And some highway happier make;
If you can't be a muskie then just be a bass-
But the liveliest bass in the lake!

We can't all be captains, we've got to be crew,
There's something for all of us here,
There's big work to do, and there's lesser to do,
And the task you must do is the near.

If you can't be a highway then just be a trail,
If you can't be the sun be a star;
It isn't by size that you win or you fail-
Be the best of whatever you are!

Hope this does inspire all of you to strive to be the best in all that you do. Each one of us is amazing in our own way. All of us deserve success in whatever we do. Take each task one step at a time, do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow would worry about itself. Live each day one at a time.
